Tour Itinerary for 7 Days 6 Nights

Its Tibetan culture which is cut off from the rest of the world for centuries has flourished and left very much untouched.  People by a race related to Tibetans stock in culture, religion. Language and features, it is also called “Little Tibet”.

LADAKH has become one of the most popular summer destinations for foreign tourists to India. It remains monsoon- free due to the great barrier of the Himalayas. The best way to enjoy Ladakh is to start a trip from Srinagar via Sonamarg and Zojila pass. Best season between mid May to mid October.

Day 01: Delhi/Leh ( By Air )

Transfer to Domestic airport for flight to Leh the capital of Ladakh spectacular mountain flight over Great Himalaya and one can see Karakoram mountains to the capital of Ladakh. On arrival at Leh airport meet and assist and transfer to hotel, take rest to acclimatize the Leh altitude which is 3550 meters .Afternoon visit Chemo Palace and Leh bazaar, the Palace is worth a visit overlooking the Leh town. You can visit Shanti Stupa built by Japanese monks with the purpose to spread peace. The sculptures of Buddha and other paintings on the walls are round shaped temples, Have a wonderful sun set pics from the Shanti stupas and later visit Leh bazaar and Tibetan market. Dinner and Overnight stay in hotel.

Day 02:  Leh 

After breakfast visit Shey Palace, Thiksay and Hemis Monasteries. Shey is 15 Kms from Leh is set up on a hill, the monastery has a two story statue of the sitting Buddha wrought of copper and gold that leaves the sense breathless. Thiksay Enroute to Hemis Gompa provides a panoramic view of the green Indus valley. Thiksay houses beautiful tankas, there are 60 resident lamas. Later visit Hemis the Ladakh biggest monastery,   Dinner and overnight stay in a Hotel.

Day 3: leh-Nubra  140 Km

Today after sufficient acclimatization, be prepared for a spectacular journey Khardungla Pass (5578 Mts) the highest motor able pass in the World, to the valley of Nubra in the Far North by the Tibetan border. The view from the top of the pass is amazing.  Enroute visit to the 150 yrs old Samthangling Gompa at Sumer, a large complex with 7 temples and was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in year 1962 , OPTIONAL  Double Hump Camel Ride (Bactrian camel) in the High altitude desert Sand dunes, after noon return to beautiful  camp for dinner & night stay.

Day 4: Nubra Valley / Pangong  160 KM

After breakfast drive from Nubra to Pangong Lake, from the Agyam Bridge, and take the left route which leads us to the villages of Shyok and Durbuk. The route is scarcely used for Commuting so you will not find any heavy traffic on any day. After Durbuk, take left towards Tangtse and follow the traditional route. Drive further to Pangong Lake, one of the largest and most beautiful natural brackish lakes in the Himalayas. Situated at 14000 ft, Check in camp for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 05: Pangong – Leh  145 KM

Early mornings have wonderful pictures of sunrise on the lake, after breakfast, drive back to Leh, 145 Kms  through Chang-la Pass 5490 meters above sea level enjoy the beautiful Panoramic View of the villages,on reaching Leh Check in Hotel at Leh.

Day 06: Sham Valley Tour

Today after breakfast drive to Sangam the conflict of two main River of the Ladakh Indus and Suru Zanaskar.enroute visit Magnetic Hill and Pather sahib Gurduwara and Hall of Fame ,Museum  made by Indian Army .Afternoon Free and easy for shopping  Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel .

Day 07: Departure to Leh Airport

After early breakfast,transfer to Leh airport for speculature mountain flight to Delhi with all sweet memories of your wonderful trip.

 Day 01: Arriving in  Delhi.

Arrive Delhi meet and assist at International airport by our representative and after immigration, transfer to Hotel for overnight stay.

Day 02: Delhi/Srinagar ( Kashmir)  Domestic flight

Early morning drive to Delhi airport approx. 4 hours and Transfer to Domestic airport for  1 hour 25 minutes flight to Srinagar ,situated at height 5200 ft above sea level. The Summer capital of Kashmir, which is located on the foot of Himalayan Mountains where tourists enjoy living in Houseboats which are anchored on Dal lake. A Kashmiri warm welcome greets you on arrival from the airport to the jetty by car and after which you are transferred to Houseboat by Shikara (Gondolas). After welcome drink and  freshen up and  enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Lake Dal and its floating market  activities, lunch at houseboat Cruise on Dal lake by Shikara visiting the Floating gardens, and Lotus gardens (summers) and cruise will go through back water canals of the lake. Dinner & night at  Bostan Luxury Premium houseboat. (4*)

Day 03: Srinagar- Gulmarg

After breakfast enjoy an excursion  to Srinagar city Jamia Masjid ,Shah-I-Hamadan and enjoy heritage walk through Old Srinagar and visit Historical sights of Srinagar follow by trip to Mughal gardens of  Nishat (Garden of Pleasure) and Shalimar (Garden of Love) built by famous Mughal Emperors, also visit silk carpet weaving centre and other craft centers Look for pure Pashmina while in Kashmir. Dinner and stay at a houseboat.

Day 04: Srinagar – Sonamarg( 2980 Meter ) 

After breakfast, drive to Sonamarg with a pack lunch 86 Kms Meadow of Gold, goes along the Sindh river approx. 2 hours and half hours  ,Enroute stop at Kangan town to witness the mountain people Were doing their trade. have some wonderful pictures of the bazaar. on reaching Sonamarg you will feel like you are in the Swiss Alps. The meadows of Sonamarg have a spectacular beauty from the strewn with the loveliest of Alpine flowers, lots of fir and pine and silver birch ,optional pony trek to Thajwas Glacier or by foot. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel.

 Day 05: Sonamarg – Kargil .

After breakfast explore this wonderful resort and enjoy the serene natural beauty all around later  proceed and  drive to Kargil  second biggest town of Ladakh region 120 Kms via  Zojila Pass( 3529 m ), a scenic drive all the way up to the Pass, after the crossing Zojila pass  the landscape completely changes. Drive through Drass town the second coldest habitat place in the world, drive goes all along the Drass river which joins further down into Suru River and  into Indus River, enjoy some time exploring Kargil town and here you will see the people are different and these are of  Dard Stock which are found in Baltistan region of western Himalayas. Dinner and night at Hotel .

Day 06: Kargil – Leh .

After breakfast along with picnic lunch, we leave for Leh (230 km), Enroute visit Mulbekh and Lamayuru Monasteries, Mulbekh this is a high image of Maitreya, the future Buddha about 1400 years old built on a huge rock. The image commemorate victory of Buddhism over Bonism and also to end the sacrificing of human and animal lives, on word proceed to Lamayuru, After crossing  Namikala pass (3737 m) and Fotula Pass  (4294 m),the highest point on Srinagar Leh road from the pass one can enjoy spectacular views of Karakoram mountain ranges ,arrive Lamayuru and proceed to monastery, the finest monastery in Ladakh, this about 900 years old and houses the image of Chanaric (The God of compassion and Mercy) of which Dalai lama is considered to be reincarnated. The paintings on the walls are sketches of the Gods of Buddhist mythology. After lunch, drive to Leh with a panoramic landscape like Moon land  and stop at Khaltse village. The drive goes all along the Indus River. Stop at the confluence of 2 mighty rivers of Himalayas,  Zanskar and Indus river. Continuing to drive to  Leh, Leh is a bustling little town. dominated by the ruins of the ancient castle perched above the main bazaar. People are friendly and are quick to say “Julley” (hello). With village women selling vegetables and local produce along the streets of the main bazaar ,lanes studded with stupas, and green agricultural fields above the town- Leh is a lovely place for walking and exploring. Check in hotel and Dinner and Overnight stay at hotel .

Day 7:  Leh (B/L/D) 3256 Meters

After breakfast, visit various monasteries of  Leh and visit  Thiksey monastery  is an imposing monastery and one of the finest examples of Ladakhi architecture. The Gompa is situated on the top of a hill overlooking the village and the Indus River  visits Leh palace and Leh bazaar, the Palace is worth a visit overlooking the Leh town. you can visit  Shanti Stupa built by Japanese and late afternoon visit Leh bazaar. and Tibetan market. Dinner and overnight stay in Hotel .

Day 8: Leh/ Pangong Lake .

After early breakfast  depart at 5 30 am  for Pangong Lake 140 Kms one way, situated at 4267 mtrs  through Changla Pass 5490 meters above sea level enjoy the beautiful panoramic View of the villages below the pass, after  crossing the pass halt for picnic lunch at Tsoltak, the summer pastureland of the YAKS, Arrive DURBUK and from there a short drive  takes you to the western shore of the lake. Enjoy the land escape in the backdrop of the lake. A long narrow basin of inland drainage, hardly six to seven kilometers at its widest point and over 130km long, it is bisected by the international border between India and China. The first view of the lake is breathtaking because of the striking colors of its water especially towards evening  when it is deep blue. Returning to Leh Enroute visit Hemis the Ladakh biggest monastery, the Gompa contains quite a few gold statues and stupas decorated with precious stones. It has a super collection of tankas including the one which is supposed to be the largest tanka in existence and is exhibited once in every 11 years.. Return in the late afternoon to Leh. and enjoy some shopping in the bazaar for Tibetan artifacts at Tibetan Market. Overnight and dinner at the hotel.

Day 9:  Leh /Khardungla/ Nubra Valley (B/L/D) ( 5578 Meters)

Today after sufficient acclimatization, be prepared for a spectacular journey Khardungla  Pass(5578 Mts) the highest motorable pass in the World, to the valley of Nubra in the Far North by the Tibetan border. The view from the top of the pass is amazing. One can see all the way South over the Indus Valley to the seemingly peaks and ridges of Zanskar range. Nubra was once a busy stop on the Caravan route used by Ancient traders for Silk, tea and Spices. The valley is predominantly Buddhist. We will drive to Panamic, where one can view the Hot Springs known for the therapeutic properties. This was a busy center in old times, the last major settlement before the caravans plunged into the mountains of Karakoram into Central Asia. Enroute visit to the 150 yrs old SamtanglingGompa at Sumur, a large complex with 7 temples and was inaugurated by the Dalai Lama in year 1962, the prayer rooms that are open to the public houses an impressive collection of Thankas and excellently restored frescoes. enjoy the Double Hump Camel Ride ( Bactrian Camel) in the High altitude desert Sand dunes, After noon return to the beautiful Deluxe camp for dinner & night stay.

Day 10: Nubra Valley /Leh .

After breakfast at camp, Visit The main village which  is Diskit which has a regular bazaar and Gompa. From Diskit the town proceeds down the Shyok to the small village of Hunder (3,048 Mts). Afternoon return back to Leh over Khardungla savoring the spectacular scenery once again. On arrival check in at the hotel later you may want to visit the Tibetan market and the Leh bazaar for last minute souvenirs. Dinner and overnight stay at Hotel .

Day 11:  Leh/Delhi 

After breakfast, transfer to Leh airport for a spectacular mountain flight to Delhi,1 hour 30 minutes flight on clear day one can see some of the highest peaks of the World, which lies in the Great Himalayan Range and also Nun Kun Peaks. On arrival Delhi.Dinner and transfer to IGI airport flight to your sweet Home with all sweet memories of your Tour.
